This queen snapper was caught today on a charter out off the Kerama islands. We fished at the 220 ~ 320 meter line with a 3 to 7 hook setup. A total of 6 queen snapper, 8 red snapper, 6 longface emperors, 1 bitaro, 1 trumpet fish, 1 grouper, and 1 rainbow runner were landed. Want to learn to fish on Okinawa, but no sure where to go? This large wahoo lost half his body as a shark bit into him as this angler was reeling him up to the boat. We thought the angler locked into a marlin when he picked up the reel and tried to wrangle the fiesty fish.

Angler holds up his catch. Katsuo typically do not get larger than 5kg and this one is right around there. Okinawa Fishing for Katsuo, Tuna, wahoo, and mahi mahi is great all year round. Okinawa get the kuroshio running right up its sides as it heads to mainland japan and it brings plenty of big game fish with it.

This angler managed to get two Marlins in a single day. They were both juvenile; the larger one was 98kg and the smaller on was 79kg. Congrats on the land. Marlin fishing= good times.

Nice Wahoo caught out on a deep sea fishing trip to the prefectural buoys of Okinawa. Nirai# 8 was slow at first, but the fish began to run and we landed 64 total. Count is: 4 mahi mahi, 1 wahoo, and the other 59 or so were katsuo and tuna down the line.

今日の乗り合いチャターはシルイユ系の魚ばかりでした。
Ride along charter out of Awase netted this member of the taman family. Not a bad catch. This is a mid-sized fish at 4.5kg with the Okinawa record taman reaching a little over 80 centimeters.
Note: that is a 2kg tray of kibinago; not the small 1/2 kg tray.

The weather was not in the best condition today; 2.5 meter waves, rain, cloudy, and so on.., but we managed to catch the following Tai as the Japanese call them. We were fishing on the bottom at 357 meters. Had a few good hits and even some hooks taken. I think they were ribbon fish or konpachi.
